Custom Leisure / Commuter / Light alloy bikes

Almost all customers for adult bikes are buying bicycles for fitness purposes or for commuting and will not be using them for true off road cycling.

Run of the mill mountain bikes are not ideal for such use - they are often heavy and have high levels of rolling resistence due to the wide knobbly off road tyres.

Suspension bikes have in addition to extra weight, the disadvantage of suspension movement during pedalling, which can sap energy, especially during hill climbing.

For several months now I have been fitting narrow slick tyres to all my mountain bikes sold to adults.-- A test run on such a bike always convinces.

In order to provide an ideal solution. I now build a series of three custom designed bike types as shown below.

In addition to these types, I now build drop bar road bikes and off road bikes also.

1. Alloy frame MTB based leisure / commuter - A Custom designed alloy frame MTB bike with full alloy components as follows.

SPEC:

Alloy - MTB frame (B1 Stellis), handlebar, seatpost, (bar ends- optional)
26 in alloy quick release wheels.
Twistgrip (18 spd) or 21 spd STI gear changers optional
Lightweight flat alloy pedals (shown) or Alloy BMX style pedals optional.
Cartridge bottom bracket bearing.
Narrow slick tyres 1.5 in Raleigh Streetwise.
Trekking saddle shown or Sports saddle optional.

Size options 43cm (17 in), 48 cm (19 in), 53 cm ( 21 in).

These modifications produce a very lightweight, free-running cycle, enhancing rideability.

This bike is absolutely ideal for fitness riding on road or cycle path or commuting.
