Lightweight commuter / leisure bike..

Last year I built a very lightweight road bike with simple gearing and low cost components for winter use.
This concept was highly successful. I now offer for sale an uprated version of this bike for all season use.
See pic links below -- my personal bike and demonstrator.
This bike looks great in both black anodised finish or polished alloy and weighs only 21 lbs, thanks to the lightweight alloy race frame and carbon fork.
Wheels are my own built road wheels with Ritchey rims and double butted stainless steel spokes, fitted with Michilin Orium 700 x 23c tyres.
Gearing is simple and lightweight - 8 speed cassette (11 - 30) with a 46 tooth single chainring (44 and 38 tooth also available).
Gearshifter is a SRAM 8 speed pushbutton type or 8 speed twistgrip, or optional Shimano 8 speed STI shifters.

Result is my favourite ever bike, fast, smooth, quiet running, wonderfully lightweight and responsive.
Cost £ 350.
Ring me anytime to arrange a test ride -- you will be amazed by the lightness and responsivness of this bike.

Footnotes

* Winter preparation of bottom bracket bearing - I always grease the BB shaft and crank location cone. This prevents rust erosion of the grease seal which would limit the bearing life to a few months. Thus prepared the BB bearing will last many winters and the chainring will always be easily removable.

** I add extra grease to the pedal bearings, otherwise they will last only one season, same applies for wheel bearings.
